Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which I provide coaching, programmes and digital products through Sarah McAreavey Coaching.

I’ve tried to keep them clear and straightforward. By booking or purchasing a service or product from me, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Who I am

Sarah McAreavey Coaching is operated by Sarah McAreavey, based in Hove, East Sussex, United Kingdom.

You can contact me at:

sarah@sarahmcareavey.com

The services I offer

I currently offer services which may include:

  • one-to-one coaching sessions

  • coaching packages lasting 3, 6 or 12 months

  • clarity or introductory calls

  • online programmes and digital resources, including Histamine Reset

  • other workshops, programmes or resources that may be introduced from time to time

The specific features, price and duration of each service will be explained on the relevant sales, booking or information page before you purchase.

Coaching is not medical or psychological treatment

My coaching is intended to support insight, understanding, wellbeing and personal development.

Although my work may include conversations about neurodivergence, hypermobility, histamine intolerance, dysautonomia, chronic illness, stress and other aspects of physical or emotional wellbeing, my coaching services are not medical care, diagnosis, psychotherapy or psychological treatment.

Nothing I provide should be treated as a substitute for individual medical advice, diagnosis or treatment from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

You remain responsible for decisions about your own health, wellbeing and medical care.

If you are concerned about a medical condition or symptoms, you should seek appropriate professional medical advice.

Booking coaching

Coaching sessions are booked by agreement or through my booking system.

Your booking is confirmed once any payment due has been received or an agreed payment arrangement is in place.

Sessions are normally held online using Zoom unless we agree otherwise.

Please make sure that the email address you provide is correct so that I can send you relevant booking information and Zoom links.

Fees and payment

The price of a coaching session, package or programme will be clearly communicated before you purchase.

Payment may be made by bank transfer or through Stripe.

Where you purchase a coaching package, you are committing to the whole package, even where we agree that payment will be made in instalments.

A payment plan is simply a way of spreading the cost of the package. It is not a pay-as-you-go arrangement.

Any remaining payments therefore remain due for the agreed package, subject always to your statutory consumer rights and any rights set out elsewhere in these Terms.

If a payment is overdue, I may pause future coaching sessions or access to services until the outstanding amount has been paid.

Cancelling or rearranging a coaching session

If you need to rearrange or cancel an individual coaching session, please give me at least 24 hours’ notice.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or do not attend your session, the session will normally be treated as used and the payment will not be refunded.

Where the session forms part of a coaching package, the missed session will normally be deducted from the number of sessions remaining in your package.

This policy reflects the fact that the appointment time has been reserved specifically for you and may not reasonably be available to another client at short notice.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.

If I need to rearrange

Very occasionally, illness, an emergency or circumstances outside my reasonable control may mean that I need to rearrange a coaching session.

If that happens, I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and we will arrange another suitable time.

The session will not be lost because I have needed to rearrange it.

Coaching packages

If you purchase a 3, 6 or 12-month coaching package, your package is provided over the period agreed when you book.

Sessions must be used during that package period.

Unused sessions do not roll over or remain available indefinitely after the package has ended, unless I specifically agree otherwise in writing.

This helps me manage availability and ensures that coaching packages retain the structure and continuity for which they are designed.

Your 14-day cancellation right

If you are a UK consumer purchasing coaching or another service online, you will normally have a legal right to cancel your contract within 14 days of entering into it, without having to give a reason.

If you would like coaching to begin within that 14-day period, you may ask me to start providing the service straight away.

If you then cancel during the 14-day cancellation period after coaching has begun at your request, you may be required to pay a reasonable proportion of the agreed price for the services already provided.

If the service has been fully performed within the cancellation period at your express request, your right to cancel may end once the service has been completed.

These rights arise under UK distance-selling rules.

To exercise your statutory cancellation right, please email:

sarah@sarahmcareavey.com

Cancelling a coaching package after the cooling-off period

After any applicable statutory cancellation period has ended, coaching packages are intended to be a commitment for the agreed duration.

Choosing not to attend or continue with coaching does not automatically cancel the financial commitment associated with your package.

However, these Terms do not remove any rights you have under UK consumer law. Any cancellation charge or amount retained must be lawful and fair, and your statutory rights always take priority over these Terms.

Digital products and programmes

Digital products and programmes, including Histamine Reset, are provided for your personal use.

Because digital programmes may be made available to you immediately after purchase, special cancellation rules apply.

Where you ask for immediate access to digital content during the statutory 14-day cancellation period, you will be asked to:

  • expressly agree that access can begin immediately, and

  • acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you lose your statutory right to change your mind and cancel.

Provided those requirements have been met, purchases of digital content are non-refundable once access has begun, except where required by law.

If the digital content is faulty, materially not as described or otherwise fails to meet your statutory rights, this no-refund policy does not affect the remedies available to you under consumer law.

Refunds

Except where you have a statutory right to a refund or these Terms expressly say otherwise, payments are non-refundable.

This includes:

  • coaching sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice

  • missed coaching sessions

  • unused sessions which expire at the end of a coaching package

  • digital products once immediate access has begun and the required consent has been obtained

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights where a service or digital product is faulty, not provided with reasonable care and skill, materially not as described, or where UK consumer law otherwise gives you a right to a remedy.

Your participation in coaching

Coaching is collaborative.

I will bring my experience, attention and professional judgement to our work together, but I cannot guarantee a particular outcome.

Results vary from person to person and can be influenced by many factors outside my control.

You remain responsible for your own choices, actions, decisions and participation in the coaching process.

My old participant agreement made a similar distinction: I could provide the programme and support, but individual outcomes depended on factors including the participant’s engagement and circumstances.

Confidentiality

What you share with me during individual coaching is treated as confidential.

I will not intentionally disclose information you share with me to another person without your permission unless:

  • I am required to do so by law;

  • disclosure is necessary to comply with a lawful court order or regulatory requirement; or

  • there is another serious legal or safeguarding reason that means confidentiality cannot reasonably be maintained.

Information about how I collect, store and process personal information is set out separately in my Privacy Policy.

Coaching notes and recordings

I may make brief notes to support continuity in our coaching work.

Coaching sessions conducted through Zoom are normally recorded so that you have the opportunity to download and keep a copy.

You can choose not to have your session recorded.

My copy of the Zoom recording is normally deleted within one month.

Please see my Privacy Policy for more information about how coaching notes, recordings and other personal information are stored and handled.

Group programmes and confidentiality

If I offer group coaching, workshops or programmes in which participants interact with one another, everyone is expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants.

You must not intentionally share another participant’s personal story, circumstances, contact details or confidential information outside the group without their permission.

While I will make this expectation clear to participants, I cannot guarantee the actions of every individual taking part in a group programme.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the written materials, worksheets, resources, recordings, training materials, programme content, graphics and other materials I create and provide remain the intellectual property of Sarah McAreavey Coaching.

They are provided for your personal use.

You are very welcome to share relevant resources or worksheets with members of your immediate family for their personal use.

However, you may not without my written permission:

  • reproduce or distribute my materials publicly;

  • upload them to another website, membership or platform;

  • sell, licence or commercially exploit them;

  • substantially reproduce them as your own work;

  • use them to create or deliver another commercial programme, course or service.

Your purchase gives you permission to use the material. It does not transfer ownership of the copyright or intellectual property to you.

Your old participant agreement contained the same core principle: programme materials remained Sarah McAreavey’s intellectual property and could not be reproduced, distributed or sold without permission.

Testimonials

If you provide a testimonial, I will only publish your full name, photograph or other identifying information where you have explicitly agreed that I may do so.

Giving a testimonial is entirely optional.

Further information about how I handle personal data is contained in my Privacy Policy.

Appropriate behaviour

I want coaching to feel safe, respectful and constructive for everyone involved.

I reserve the right to suspend or end services where there is a serious reason to do so, including threatening, abusive, discriminatory or persistently inappropriate behaviour, harassment, deliberate misuse of my services, or a serious or repeated breach of these Terms.

Where reasonably possible, I will explain the issue and give you an opportunity to resolve it before ending our work.

In serious circumstances, immediate termination may be appropriate.

Any financial consequences of ending a service will be dealt with fairly and in accordance with UK consumer law. CMA guidance specifically warns businesses against terms allowing them to cancel arbitrarily while simply keeping all of the consumer’s money.

Availability and technology

Online coaching and digital services depend on technology which is not always within my control.

I cannot guarantee that Zoom, Flodesk, Squarespace, TidyCal or another third-party service will always be available without interruption.

If a significant technical problem on my side prevents me from delivering a coaching session, I will rearrange the session.

You are responsible for having a suitable internet connection and equipment to participate in online coaching and access digital materials.

Third-party services

I use third-party services to run parts of my business, which may include Squarespace, Flodesk, Stripe, TidyCal, Zoom, Google and Apple.

Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply when you use their platforms.

My Privacy Policy explains more about how personal information is handled when these services are used.

Liability

I will provide my services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to those rights, I am not responsible for losses which:

  • were not reasonably foreseeable when we entered into the contract;

  • arise from decisions or actions you take independently following coaching;

  • result from your failure to seek appropriate professional, medical, legal or financial advice where needed;

  • result from circumstances outside my reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude rights or remedies which UK consumer law says cannot be excluded.

Privacy and data protection

Your personal information is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy, which explains what information I collect, why I collect it, how it is stored and your rights.

You can view the Privacy Policy at:

www.sarahmcareavey.com/privacy-policy

Marketing communications

Agreeing to these Terms does not, by itself, mean you agree to receive marketing emails.

Where I invite you to join my mailing list, the relevant sign-up form will explain that separately.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Emails which are necessary to administer a service you have purchased — such as booking confirmations, Zoom links or information needed to access a programme — are not marketing emails and may still be sent where necessary to provide the service.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of a service or product, please contact me first so that I have the opportunity to understand what has happened and try to resolve it.

You can email:

sarah@sarahmcareavey.com

Nothing in this complaints process affects any statutory rights you may have.

Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time, for example if my services change or legal requirements are updated.

The Terms that apply to a particular purchase or booking will normally be the version in force when you entered into the agreement, unless a change is required by law or we mutually agree otherwise.

The latest version will always be available on my website.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have the benefit of mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts which have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
