I’ve spent years exploring what really supports people with complex bodies and brains, the tiny habits, the nervous system patterns, and the deeper understanding that makes life easier.

None of us grow up learning how to navigate a body with stretchy connective tissue, unstable joints, unpredictable fatigue, or a nervous system that flips into fight-or-flight at the slightest demand.

When the body is struggling with circulation, digestion, inflammation, temperature swings and energy crashes, clarity becomes harder to access. The world feels louder. Stress hits harder. Overwhelm happens faster.

It’s easy to mistake this for weakness. It's not that we’ve failed. It’s that the world didn’t teach us how to care for a body like this.

It’s simply a system working overtime without the understanding it needs.

People with bodies like ours need understanding, pacing, nervous-system support, and clarity. With the right insight and support, people with complex, reactive bodies often discover they have far more inner resilience and clarity than they realised.

For most of my life I was an overachiever, the one who pushed harder, performed better, and held myself to impossibly high standards. I wanted to be the “strong one,” whether in my family, my career or my health.

So when my body collapsed at 35 with severe chronic fatigue, breathlessness, pain and a list of unexplained symptoms, it felt like everything I knew about myself disappeared overnight. I had no idea then that it would take another twenty years to finally receive the diagnosis that made everything make sense: hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, along with dysautonomia and histamine issues.

Looking back, I realise I spent years surviving with a body that was constantly overwhelmed, and I did what so many hypermobile people do: I tried everything to get better.

Juicing, fasting, detoxing, naturopathy, Chinese medicine, exclusion diets, herbs, supplements, energy work, homeopathy, colon hydrotherapy, infra-red saunas, hot yoga… you name it, I tried it. (And yes, a few of those things are still very much a part of my toolkit today.)

Holistic health became my obsession, partly out of desperation, partly out of curiosity, and partly because nobody could explain what was happening to me. I eventually trained as a naturopathic nutritionist, and naturally, I became my first long-term case study.

And if you haven’t already guessed, I was - and still am - a bit of an all-or-nothing kind of woman.
But what I’ve learned is that bodies like ours don’t heal through intensity. They heal through understanding, pacing, nervous-system safety and small, compassionate shifts that honour how sensitive and intelligent we truly are.

So How Did I End Up Doing This Work?

I soon realised that true healing doesn’t come from working on the body alone.

Even without a diagnosis (which would take 20 years!), it was clear that my symptoms changed with my state of mind, whenever stress dropped, my body worked so much better; whenever I felt overwhelmed, everything intensified. Nutrition helped, but the nervous system was the missing piece.

This led me to explore the mind-body connection more deeply. As I learned about the nature of experience and trained with mentors, something shifted. My system began to settle, my energy stabilised and my body felt safer, long before anyone told me what I was living with.

Hypermobile, sensitive bodies often respond this way: they thrive when the mind quietens, when pressure lifts and when we reconnect with our own inner clarity. And in my 50s, I finally discovered that I’m neurodivergent too, another piece of the puzzle that explained so much about how my mind processed the world.

That understanding shapes everything I do today.

I Know How Different Everything Feels When Your Mind Quietens, Your Body Feels Calmer, Your Energy Steadier, And You Can Finally Exhale.

Living with a complex, reactive body changes your definition of what matters. For me, it stopped being about achievement or pushing harder, and became about clarity, calm, connection, and learning how to live in a way that supports my body rather than overwhelms it.

That’s the heart of my coaching now… helping people discover a gentler, clearer way of navigating their own experience, so their body and mind can settle and they can move through life with more ease.
